FeelsGood FC at the 2024 Icarus Cup: Another Quarter-final Exit

The weekend of July 13-14, 2024, was without a doubt one of the hottest weekends of the Summer. As temperatures soared in Philadelphia, the team braved the blistering heat for an unforgettable experience at the annual Icarus Cup — a tournament that brought together like-minded athletes from across the tri-state area to compete, connect, and celebrate the spirit of the game.
FeelsGood FC, in its second year at the event, was buzzing with excitement, especially after being selected as sponsors for one of the standout jersey designs. The "Addis Ababa" kit, inspired by the vibrant energy of Ethiopia's capital, was a bold choice — featuring deep reds, greens, and striking patterns that stood out under the sun. Having the FeelsGood FC wordmark on a slick checkboard pattern kit design and being worn by the players was definitely a proud moment for the brand.
But the excitement didn’t just come from the jerseys. Over the course of the weekend, FeelsGood FC played 6 intense games in the sweltering heat, each match more grueling than the last. Despite the lack of water, nutrients and electrolytes, the team kept pushing forward,
By the time Sunday rolled around, FeelsGood FC had worked its way through the group stages and into the quarter-finals after winning some intense matches on the turf which felt as if were on fire at this point. Unfortunately, after a valiant effort, FeelsGood FC was knocked out by a skilled cohesive Fresh Coast side. Despite the loss, the boys walked off the field proud of their performance and grateful for the opportunity to compete at a high level.
The event was a celebration of what makes 7v7 soccer special — the thrill of playing in one of the a competitive tournament, the pride in seeing their “Addis Ababa” kit shine on the field, and the feeling of being part of a larger soccer family.
